I’m planning to replace the front door speakers on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma.
I have bought a set of component speakers (JL Audio C1-690). It comes with a pair of woofer speakers and a pair of tweeters.
I noticed from watching YouTube that replacing the tweeters will be a hassle: I need to custom make the support brackets by using a 2-inch hole saw which I don’t have, wire the new tweeters, worry about the crossovers, hide wiring, etc.
I was considering only replacing only the 6x9 inch speakers. Doing that would keep the truck pretty close to stock (no wiring work).
Is skipping replacing the tweeters is a good idea? I am not aiming for perfection, just a step up in audio quality. The stock woofers were surprisingly light to me.
