I just had a pro install a system in my boat. 6 speakers and a sub driven by two 4/3 channel amps. ( the 4 channels of amp 1 driving 4 speakers, 2 channels of amp 2 driving the remaining two speakers and the other two channels of amp 2 bridged for the sub). The head has 3 pairs of preamp outs - 1 set being for the sub. The installer told me that the balance, fade and independent sub volume adjustments on the head would not work because of the way he had to connect the head to the amps. He implied the problem was the number of preamp outputs on the head. One other note... I unhooked the sub to do some cleaning and in addition to the sub not working, two speakers quick working, too. Lastly, it doesn't seem like I'm getting uniform sound out of all the speakers, i.e., vocals will be strong in one speaker but weak in another. None of this seems to be quite right but I'm not knowlegable enough to discuss it with the installer. Any advice/suggesstions are appreciated...
