Is is possible to blow your amp at the same time as blowing your speakers? For some reason this just I thought that it was one or the other that would go out, but for some reason my friends amp is blown and the speakers sound like they are at least half blown. the amp we know is gone but the speakers sound half gone when they are hooked to my amp. Just out of curiosity just wanted to know if that was possible or did he achieve the impossible. Thanks

Well, not meaning to ask this as if I am underestemating you or anyhting but, is your amp's gains turned back down after coming from your system so that you can adjust them to his system? are the subs suitible for your amp? as far as impedance goes and also power handling? YOur amp may pack too much of a punch to the subs at a high gain setting. Also, did oyu ensure you got a good ground on your amp? I don't think you would blow out your amps and subs together. What caused the amp to blow any way? is it getting enough current? and it isnt. Unless the equipment is really faulty, it sounds like there is an installation problem that caused it.

WEll here is the deal we hooked it up to my 600w with the power all the way down then slowly turned it up so we would not overpower them too quickly. When the amp was turned up to less than 1/3 of its potential the speakers started to hop and put out a bad rattle.vThe amp was just overpowered we were playing a bass cd way to loud and way too long. yes they were hooked up at the right impendance and they were not peing overpowered in my car by no means. Any more suggestions.
