Is it my computer or my torrents...?

Ive been trying torrents out lately and so far I hate them.

I love the idea of be able to get the whole album at one time etc, but my computer is hating it. My download speeds will start out around 35-40 kbs then drop after a short time. It takes me a couple hours to get a whole torrent if it gets that far before I delete the file because its been 45 minutes and its only got 5%. Ive tried piratesofthebay, isohunt, and a couple others too.

Can anyone help...

My connection is cable/dsl and a speed test said 381

There's a guide out there somewhere that helps you set up your torrent settings based on your connection...worked very well for me- I went from a top speed of around 25kbps to an average of ~125-150kbps, if not higher.

First you have to enable port forwarding through your router's settings.

There are plenty of tutorials on the net, do a search for port forwarding

I use Azureus to "execute" the torrent

depends on how many seeders and leechers there are too.. also the hosts connection. sometimes ill be downloading a movie get 200 kb/s sometimes ill get 5 it all depends. look for more seeders than leechers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Mine wont stabilize at all. It goes 30 then drops and hardly goes back up...

torrentscan.com!!! its a great site. all you do is type in the search whatever you're looking for and you can just click on about 20 different sites. it saves a bunch of time.
