Is it just me or...

being cold is like being loud. its all relative.

sounds like hell to me. literally.
The cold kills off lots (if not all) poisonous bugs, reptiles, snakes, and the like. So there's that.

Yep thats me, I dont deny it. No way I could take that kinda cold this is why I chose to live in Fla, its not that often it gets in the teens here. Dunno if Ive ever even seen single digits. Bet u would cry in the summer here tho it regularly hits 100+ and with 100% relative humidity, thats not very friendly either.
ya that would be killer, i honestly don't know how long i could handle weather in the 100's.....

that the one good thing. it will hopefully slow down the mosquitos around here. you'd be amazed by the mosquitos here even in the middle of downtown atl, they are like small buzzards!

Comparing summers and winters here in MI, I gotta say, I like the nasty heat wave days in the summer with humid 100+ degree temps, than the brutal below zero days in the winter. Super cold days in the winter occur more often than the heat wave days.

My face feels like its going to break off, snow in and out the car, etc. Can't stand it. Today was like 9 degrees but it felt OK because the sun was out. Then night fall came.......1 minute outside and you're done. When I started up the car this morning and turned on the heater, it started snowing inside the car.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

I couldnt imagine anythin below zero, it must hurt ur lungs just to breathe in that. Just so u guys know Real Estate is cheap here!lol

Not to mention ur cars would last alot longer so there one less expense every few yrs.

If done properly there is no issues directly related to the cold. Really the only time you have a problem is if 1. Your battery freezes and explodes, 2. Your coolant freezes and pops your radiator, and 3. You don't let the engine warm up before driving.

but its crowded in florida. florida will soon overtake new york for the third most populated state.

It's get below freezing here and I feel like I want to stay inside. Then I think back to the few years I lived in Alaska where it was 30-40 BELOW for months at a time. The last January I was there was the coldest on record, had a high of -19F for the month. Then the windchill would drop it down to feel another 20 degrees below that. So, twenties isn't that bad. But I'm not going to work outside when it's that cold either.

Lowlacs, it's painful to breathe when it hits about 15 below and colder. At those temps to me, I feel my sinuses freeze as soon as I step outside and take a breath.

that happens!? holy crap.
what about the vents? Or are you talking about the water that freezes and breaks the casing because of expansion?
I've never seen them explode' date=' but crack and leak. Thinking about it that was probably my unit's #1 problem when it came to keeping vehicles maintained during the winter was battery failures.
