TBH, I owned my JL equipment and it worked well for what it did. My only gripe was I was paying full retail plus install from Tweeter when they were still in business. If I had just held onto my money longer, though, I could have gotten much better equipment going with the Polk SR comps and an Audison amp.
What about the JL amps don't you like?

I've bought JL before several times.

Are they the best? Of course not. There are much better products out there that will outperform JL at half the price and be just as reliable with just as good warranty service. That's what places a product on top IMO.

Most of the JL audio huggers will not even KNOW what non-mainstream brands even are.

Some people are brand loyal ; which is good and their choice. Some people are just plain mis-informed or uneducated about other products available.

Opinions are opinions . Preferences are preferences.

Lol when I was a teen, I thought that RIPS was the coolest thing ever. Now I realize it's somewhat neat, but doesn't really make or break the product. I do agree with you about its inefficiency, though.

True. Then again the JBL GTi subs are Dual 3ohm and I always found that odd.

It's useful if you're running 3 subs so you can still have it wired at 1 ohm.... but to buy 3 W7s you'd be spending $2100+.
