is it just me or are big wheels on sedans idiotic?

ok, with this being a car audio forum i know i'm going to get mixed responses on this...

im talking about big wheels on cars.

i personally think that the BIGGEST size wheel that you should ever see on a car/sedan would be 22". simple as that. chargers, caddys, etc.

what boggles my mind is when people ('thugs', 'dealers', 'fat white dudes') put 24-26" wheels on caprices, pontiacs, old caddys, etc. 9 times out of 10 the wheels cost more than the car itself. does anyone see anything wrong with that picture?

i always thought big wheels just made cars look better, 20s or 22s on chargers, caddys etc, and when you get into suv's 22-28" are just fine depending on the truck/suv.

WHY in the world do people do that (big wheels on sedans)? attention? stupidity?

let me knock out a few of the responses right quick, i'm not 'jealous', because i can honestly say if i see a nice yukon or escalade pull up on 26's or 28s, my first thought is "**** thats nice"

or even when i see say 20's on a caddy...

if you can make it look GOOD, thats one thing... simply putting big wheels on a car doesn't make your car look good, simple as that. a lot of people in the PGH area do this, and it's sad.. i was actually driving the other day and saw some dude who musta been on 26s or 28s in a purple (not candy) sedan, looked like an old caddy. whos behind the wheel? some ugly fat white dude.

My old poor '02 Maxima with 20's

I miss it:(

they do it for the same reason other idiots put 18" subwoofers in a grand prix.................

because its theirs, they own it, they want to, and theres nothing you can do or say about it

heres' why (imho):

costs:

90-95 caddy purchased with 80k miles: $1000-2000

24" wheels and tires (depending on where you get them): $2-4000

suspension changes/upgrades: varies, $500-1000, maybe less, maybe more.

total cost: $4000-7000.

i paid about that for my 97 grand prix gt. stock.

now lets see something that would actually 'look good':

2005 escalade: $30-50,000

24-28" wheels and tires: $4-8000

suspension upgrades changes: $500-1500

total cost: $35-60,000

durrr, people are funny as hell tryin to look baller when they're broke as shit. if you aint got the pocket dont try to rock it..

i'll stick with my stock wheels and 05 trailblazer.....lmao

fyi: i bought the 18 because i was changing vehicles within 2-3 months.

figured what the hell, while i wait, why not.

big difference in doing something like that and being able to transfer the speaker than wasting that kind of money on wheels and making your car look stupid as ****.

Must be nice... some of us would nearly kill for something like that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
