OP - anything over 15v will start to burn out all of your bulbs, the higher the voltage, the more problems appear.
The MTX amps are easily modded to take 16-18v, that doesn't mean the vehicle can take it nor the batteries for prolonged periods of time.
It seems this guy at the shop took some truth and mixed it with his own BS.
