Is damaged cone bad?

I was trying to put the cover thingy on the door back.

Yeah it will allow the backwaves to come through and cause cone break up in your sound...use some flexible silicone to seal it
What?

If the speakers is mounted properly..there shouldn't be any air leaks...between the cone and the motor structure...if there is a hole in the cone...the air from the back wave will try to work its way out the cone...causing a ripple effect which in terms will cause some audible distortion.....

The speakers are mounted properly and there is no hole in the cone, just a some shapes that I cannot explain.

Yes, as far I as my ears can tell, they sound great. So there should be no problem as far is sound goes right? Just physically right? Dammit, bad resale value now but I don't think I will sale them anyways, they sound super.
