They are building one near me. I was browsing monster.com and noticed they are taking online apps for installer. Do they just up and fire you when you make too much? I want to stay in the auto business but maybe something different than what I am doing now. I am confident on stereo install but alarms I hate, but I can learn. Plus where I am at its just going to shit and they cant pay me enough. I may just try at one of the other dealerships in town, I am a parts advisor. But I dont want to work somewhere where I could get fired for no reason. So are they gay like CC? My buddy's dad was a manager there for like 10 years and CC fired him cause they said they were doing the restructure garbage.

Best Buy is the most number driven company ever, they are the exact opposite of that.

They won't fire you for making too much, they will fire you for not making them enough.

Success is rewarded at Best Buy, people who perform well will get more hours and more money. Simple as that.

it's not worth it...

no holiday's off. when i worked at cercuit city i was there from dawn till dusk!

there at 3:30 in the morning christmas eve. it's to corprate. you have to wear a gey uniform..... unless you like all that go for it..

Maybe Ill send the app in and see what happens. I can always say no. I am working right now and doing ok. But I just dont see a future here or making much more money than what I am now. I have been doing what I do now for 8 years so maybe Ill just go to the dealership across town who is HUGE, like 7 car lines and one of the largest whosalers on the east coast. Just drop my resume and see what happens.

never hurts to just drop in an app, if they call you then you can decide what to do from there, if you think that you have advanced as far as you think you can and not really making what you thought then i would just drop in apps and see what comes of it

i've never really figured there was much money to be had in that industry....working at bb or circuit city was never a thought that popped into my head...im working at exxonmobil chemical plant for a contractor at 18 so im pretty happy.

I make less than what I made at another dealership but at the time 3 years ago I was out of a job. The place I was at I was there for 6 months than one day they said we have too many advisors in the dpt. So I was out of work and money. I have been at this place for around 3 years. Of course only 1 raise after I threatened to quit a couple years ago. Parts managers at big dealerships can make 6 figures, so there is money there, just not here lol. Their comission plan is ****en gay. I get payed off of shop hours, not the profit I make the dpt. So if a tech slacks or they lose a service advisor and cant sell jobs then I lose money. On top of that they take my parts driver to pick up cars at other dealerships. SO I cant make deleveries or pick up parts fot the dealership. THen they ask why I cant make any more profit for the dealership, well duh, I dont have any employees. Customers and shops just call someone else. My dpt is me, my manager, a stock guy and delivery guy. Well my manager is off sick and they took my driver. SO I am forced to use my stock guy to deliver parts. So I am by myself trying to wait on a shop full 5 technicians, answer phone call, wholesale calls, wait on the front counter, pull parts orders, etc all by myself. THey wont hire anyone else cause I can do it, but I am tired of not seeing another dime for running my *** off. A rant I guess.

Any company will fire people if they are trying to cut costs. It happens.

Best Buy however is one of the few companies that will very very quickly promote you and give you big raises if you perform well. They are in business to make money, and if you make them money, they like you and will try to keep you around.

One of my friends was hired at BB as a cashier. Within a year he had gotten nearly $3 in raises and moved up departments twice. He's now a pretty high up manager making pretty decent money and not worried at all about losing his job.

Another one of my friends was hired at a BB. She has been there for almost a year, gotten one tiny raise, and will probably be fired soon. (the best part is the first friend is probably going to be the one to fire her lol)

i work here at R.C Willey. it's just like a best buy and CC but mormon's started r.c. willey:uhoh:....... but i like it. it's been a year. i have my own shop with lift's. i get fat paid, benifit's, 401k ect....

i tould myself after CC i would only work at mom and pop shops. this place has a little bit of bullsh*t to deal with... but it's nothing like CC.....

plan on being here for awhile......
