is 60 amp fuse too small?

I have 4 gage on a 60amp fuse an the 4 gage goes into a alpine 1000 watt mono block and a 4 channel 600 watt which goes into 4 x 90 watt speakers. The 4 channel is on 8 gage and a distribution block is used. Is 60 amp too small?

Yes, 100 amp fuse for true 4 gauge OFC.

well yes its too small if your really using that amount of wattage I(current)=P(watts)/E(voltage). 1600/14.4 = 111.11 amps.

Yes.. that's a 200 amp fuse. It wouldn't protect your wire in the event of a short.

Ok, I just ordered 100 amp fuses. Hopefully this helps .
