You are gravely mistaken. Purchased Itunes songs are far, far from CD quality.

no their not. I just set my volume level on my head unit to 42 yesterday and first played one of my favorite cds and then played a burned cd from itunes with the same song on it and they sounded identical at the same volume level. So, i think your wrong. I would suggest buying new blank cds to record on if i were you.

bullcrap, i have 1100 dollars in my system and it is really clean. No distortion at all. I never even clip my speakers because i want them to last. I know what a clean sounding install sounds like. Their are in fact , a couple of songs on itunes i found that werent cd quality, but everyone i buy sounds just as good as cd's. Believe me though, my system is really clean so i can tell the difference. I'm not the dude down the street that just wants the boom, boom in the trunk.

Itunes uses AAC files which are Improved compression files that provides higher-quality results. Near CD Quality. And most cds arent even recorded very good anyway so some of the itunes files sound better.

I've spent going on $3000 myself so far and I have alot more deadening to do and I want to replace my front speakers. sorry but my speakers are more than $1100, and your completely incorrect, aac is just as bad as an mp3. Even aac lossless you lose some material going from the original.

In fact no burned copy of a cd will ever match the quality of an original stamped cd, now it can be very very close but still not the same.

And what does this $50,000 system consist of?

I can guarantee my paradigm studio 100s will shit all over your altec crap, expensive equipment does not mean anything if the owner is a moron

Wrong. Many tests show that as for the AAC versus MP3, the MP3 files are much more superior than AAC. I've done my research, and the conclusion is AAC files cuts the low frequencies far more steeply than MP3 files. Therefore, MP3 files have more warmth and depth of the bass notes.

You can change the coversion settings on both, but however MP3 files still sound better than AAC.

LAME MP3 codec > iTunes AAC codec. End of story.

Wow I didn't mean to start a war about formats lol, dudes, please read my ENTIRE post before telling me my head unit EQ is messed up or my sub can't handle it, I said I burned the exact same track to a CD and it sounded great, made my steering wheel dance. The guys that said check my IPOD EQ, I will tomorrow, to be honest It was a hand me down and I never used the Ipod, it's been sitting around my room for like over a year unused because I got used to burning MP3 CD's. I'll play with it tomorrow and repost. BTW, AAC vs MP3 is all relative. If you got a 128k bitrate MP3 vs a standard AAC, the Itunes AAC may have a tiny bit less compression distortion, but any MP3 I download is usually 256k+ and is superior to AAC, but again, even that depends on the person/software/cd that it was originally ripped from. I may not know a god **** thing about IPODs but I have been an audio format nut since WAV was the only thing out and you had to send it to other people broken up in 10 different files as AOL mail was the only thing going back then and had 5 megabyte per mail limits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
