IPODs hate bass!!!

Correct. My EQ is set to flat on the ipod. My speakers just sound garbled because they are trying to play 5 and 10 hz. And they don't do it well. My sub only sees frequencies below 80, set through my HU.
Turn down the low level freq's on the deck, and then re-adjust the gain on your sub amp to accommodate the drop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Less low end going to the speaks and the same to the sub, prob solved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Haha, I've done that man. My 50 HZ on my deck is at -5, and the 125 at -2. I just need new front speakers - absolutely no midbass. Just not worth it when I am getting rid of the car soon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

^ lawl, Ive come across a few cars lately with similar issues. This kid has me wire up his truck, and install a pair of 12" cvx's and a bx1206, and new pioneer deck.

Stock speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Kinda hard to keep from destroying his half-blown stock ford speakers and still send a strong signal to the amp without a line driver lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Does anyone know the frequency response for an IPOD? Because I have found something interesting. I have an Alpine 9886 with the Alpine IPOD connector, and when I recently downloaded some bass tracks like Bassotronics-Bass I love you, whenever the really low frequency bass drop hits it would garble out everything and sounded completely like shit. I tried it on my other setup to make sure it wasn't the amp or install, and the exact same problem. So I took the track and burned it to a CD. Sure enough, no distortion, no garbling, just awesome-loosen-your-bowels-bass. I've also noticed this slightly with Three 6 Mafia - Late Night Tip. Anyone else have an IPOD direct connect with their head unit and have this problem? Try it out with Bassotronics and let me know I'm curious //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
MAKE SURE the SOUND CHECK feature on your ipod under settings is OFF

EQ setting should be "OFF" or "FLAT"

I noticed the bass came in less strong when using an RCA adapter to my old headunit versus having no problems using the direct connect with the new HU.

I know i am using different HUs in those cases but the same thing happens w/my home theatre setup, Ipod bass (and quality)

so then set your EQ for your speakers in the 80hz up area //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i have my ipod hooked directly to my head unit and setting the ipod setting to flat makes it sound the best. But it still is better to make an mp3 cd and buy your songs off itunes because they are cd quality. Its hard to listen to music from your ipod when you got any kind of low frequencies involved
