its not mine, its a buddy thats in iraq, im putting vids and songs on it...... i found out it has to be mp4 in order to convert it to the ipod, but anways i might buy one

There are several programs that convert the video to a format that ipods can view.

For PC's.. not to sure which ones, but Quicktime will for sure save it in ipod format. Do some searching on google. For Mac, Look up programs called Podner and iSquint.

THey aint that great man, A whole new line just came out from creative, i audio, starting to make the ipod video look like the toy it is.

steps:

use dvd decrypter to rip to hard drive

use nero to condense file and make it a mpeg

use MP4 Converter Encoder Codec - ImTOO MPEG Encoder 2.1 to convert from mpeg to mp4

move to itunes done!

(nero you chance change size of the file and make the dvd's 1.3G w/only the movie, extras, etc.)

If coming from a DVD, the last two steps would be better suited for a program that can convert VOB -> MP4 directly. Otherwise, each in-between step decreases the quality. I use Xilisoft...with a serial from s2k.

considering how its just going to an ipod i doubt you'll see a differnece in quality....

from what i see w/my eyes w/my glasses on the quality looks good
