with an fm kit yeah it will but direct connect with the right aux sensitivity set or just a direct cable should sound as clear as it would in the headphones.

Other than an iPod adapter, you can buy FM Transmitters that plug into your cig, and broadcast to a certain station, and you match your deck to that station. not sure how they sound though. i always reccomend the 20$ cassete deal that plugs into your headphone output over the $80 transmitter.

LOL at the pic, I see em less than 80 a lot, I'd say 50 or less, for a decent brand too. Everyone says quality of the music suffers though. You could get a connector to go from ipod to the alpine thing on the back for cheap on ebay, just search ipod alpine(not the one alpine makes). But for a little more than 80 you might as well go with alpine's ipod interface
