I want to hook up my i-pod mini to my factory Mazda 3 system. What is the best way to do this without static and the use of FM modulators? I'm using a factory headunit but my system is pretty hooked up, i just wana add an MP3 player. Is this possible?

pull out your stock radio to see if there's any extra plugs in the back to accept cd changers usually. These can be modified to accept RCA inputs.

Look on a mazda board too. There'll be SOMEONE diggin' around on them.

I'm in the process of addin XM/ipod to my stock HU right now.

pm'ed ya too.

on the back of the mazda 3 radio there is only one extra plug... and that's for the factory nav system i'm 99% sure... but i looked at soundgate.com and didn't see an adapter for it... i'll check at work 2morrow and see if i can find one... do you have the 6-disc in dash changer?

Yeh i got the 6 disc changer in my mazda. in 2 weeks i'm gonna hook up my new system in it by using hi-lo converters for my amps. not exactly sure if it has any extra plugs at the back but the radio does have an extra button on it for the MD that i dont use. You think i could connect it to that?
