Ipod help please

well i am in the process of trading for a 30 gig ipod... before i send the ipod back to the owner for shipping me a broken ipod i want to make sure there is nothing i can do. i try to turn the ipod on and it just shows the load screen with the apple for a while then turns to the http://www.apple.com/support/ipod page. i tryed resetting it by holding menu and select is there anything else i can do ?

How many songs do you have on it? If it is a software bug you may be able reformat it.

i just got it when i got home so i have done nothing to it .... it just kicked on and light up but now is not doing anything

The first thing I would do is restore your ipod to it's factory settings before sending it.

Try this, I'm not sure if it would help you, but it seems that you have a software issue and not a hardware problem.

well the ipod magically started working... but now my question is can i run it on linux or do i need the windows?? i have wine for linux but idk if it will work

i know what your problem was....it happens sometimes with ipods when you haven't used them in a couple days. Mine does the same thing. The screen with the apple comes up. Just let it sit and charge it and it should work fine shortly.
