ipod Connections

yes, cda-9887 = win.
If you like how your friends Alpine sounds then you should get the same deck, Pioneer has good sound quality and has been coming out with many ipod compatible units. But Alpine might have the better hu since they have always been technology advanced with sq like the footprint thing they have now.

basically the 880 is going to give you more options for fine tuning the eq. the alpine is going to have cheaper, much better ipod compatibility (and not need the external box the pioneer will) and IMO better user interface and a relatively clean, simple look to it.

i'm going 9887 as soon as i get rid of my clarion.

I like my Pioneer (DEH-P6900UB).

The only thing is that I have a Third-Gen Click Wheel iPod... and it only supports the generation after that and up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

So, I have to use a USB stick. But that USB stick rips some fire @ss sound, lemme tell you. Sounds like a CD... if not better.

My dad had a 9885 and I have a 490IB. Both were very easy to use with the iPod. Finding songs was easy, and the controls were easy to remember. Sound quality was great on both of them.

I think I liked mine more, but that could've possibly been because I used it more and prefer the simple clean look of the Pioneer.
