and ALOT more via a google search ..

iphone smart start - Google Search

Ultimate summary ..

iPhone has an app for that ! Gives you entry and remote start to your Viper alarm/remote start system via the iPhone from anywhere you have coverage. Clifford and Python models should be following shortly with availability.
great..one more tool for the elite robber. I can see this getting hacked very soon.

sounds like a good idea actually

I wonder how far of a range it has?

If its like the standard remotes its not worth it. They give you a decent amount of range but not like advertised.

If it can almost everywhere ill get it.

My take on it is that you can start your car from anywhere you have signal, like accross the country?

Also you have to buy a 200-300 dollar module to make it work with your alarm. Thats pretty lame.

"There is the $300 Viper SmartStart Module that you are going to have to have professionally installed in your car, as well as an annual $30 subscription to get that gear on the cell network. The first year of the service is free,"
So now my $600 alarm turns into a $1000 alarm for an extended distance I dont need. 1 Mile is good enough for me.

Your annual service plan was designed to cover all the activity that a customer would use under any reasonable circumstances. Like all other "unlimited” services such as cell phone data plans, we do have a limit on the number of uses per month that we can enforce on a case by case basis in the event that a device is malfunctioning or a subscriber is clearly abusing the service (e.g. commercial purposes). In the unlikely event that you approach the usage limits of your service plan, you’ll receive a notice with an option to opt up to a higher usage plan for an additional fee.

that part sounds like the reason not to get it
