Man I hate to do this and was really hoping I didn't have to.

I had 04Murdalanche (Jeff) do a iPad mini dash for me. This started in February when we talked about it and ordered parts. He offered to help me out and I did it for him in return. After all, this is a hobby and if you can help someone out instead of asking for tons of money then great. And just so I put everything on the table I'll talk about what we helped out on.

-He offered to do my ipad dash. And started the work

- he ran and got me some 1/0 lugs from shop since I work late. (I paid, but he was willing to go so I really appreciated the help)

- offered to help me learn to glass and help with my a-pillars. He didn't do any work on these. But again I really appreciated the offer to help.

-I gave him some shok 1/0 (I think 14ft? For a - run to the back)

. i bought 2 ipad mini bezels from FiField Fab. (He paid me 50 for his and I covered the rest. Was like 6 or 7$ more so no biggie really)

. Made large decals for him for his enclosure in the silverado. And some smaller decal work.

. Gave him some blue LEDs wired up.

. Bought him some Glassing materials.

- resin , mat, and some jelly he wanted to try.

I think that was it but I may have missed some others. Feel free to add to the list Jeff. But keep it honest, and I'm doing my best to do the same.

February.

Got a game plan. Ordered parts. When parts came in we met up and looked at ideas on what we could do and agree on. He took both ipad mini bezels and my complete radio bezel dash. (Ac panels, airbag on/off switch) just so he had everything he needed to make it fit right.

The ipad bezel isn't moving. He did good in securing that. He said he used bondo to do the body work from ipad bezel to radio dash, but it's flaky. It's not solid at all. It's soft and still flexible. It's more of a putty then bondo. I've worked with bondo and this isn't it. If it is then the mixture was off and he didn't apply much hardener. The sides are lumply in areas and have divots in others. By no means smooth. The transitions are non existent. You can see the levels and can tell no transitions were even attempted. The back of the dash you can obviously see what's going on back there. Nothing was attempted. Nothing. And yes. You do see a gap from my top view. That isn't lighting or other excuses that I've seem him use. In the case of SilveradoSS pods. Or bad resin (like in Timmy's case) , cause I don't think he used any.

I can take closer pics of the lumps and divots if you all want to examine it. I'll even pop my macro lens and get some real close ups. And some area have chunks missing. I looked around in the box but no pieces. So I believe it left his hands that way.

Like the others have said, he's a nice guy to ******** with but this is absolute crap. And I told him that. The only thing he could tell me was that there was nothing he could do in the back cause moving parts. And he realized fiberglass doesn't stick to plastic. I also told him that he hasn't done much besides the body work from feb to today. All he said was that he beefed up the glue or whatever he used to bond the adapter to my dash. Yup that's it.

I didn't want to see this turn this way. And I didn't think he would do that to me since we chilled and shot the **** when I was working in Oklahoma. I'm back home in Texas now and this is what I receive after waiting most of the year. Great huh?

You really fvcked me Jeff. Held on to my sh.t that long to give me a unfinished product. You say all I need to do it cut this and that, when you had all those parts to make it fit. You'll probably say I don't glass so I don't know what problems you may have encountered. But I did try and you've seen my results. That looked better in my opinion this this.

So I'll leave this post take its toll. But this is my experience with 04Murdalanche

Sorry man. I was hoping you didn't fvck me like you did the others. But you did without regret. And I do believe you'll do it again by the way you've conducted yourself on other topics. Especially since these people on here have no face, no personality that you experience in person. I met you, we chilled, shot the ****, even went to dinner. And you still fvcked me. You'd do it to anybody.

And this didn't fit cause pic limit but

This is my Glassing attempt just so you guys know what I showed him.

Really... Can't wait to see what you have to say about the rest. My 13 y/o brother coulda cut up the trim and superglued the bezel on to look the same.

Yeah. I'm pretty disappointed how this whole ordeal turned out. I work on the pipeline wherever that may be. And to meet like minded people in the same city I happen to arrive at is a bonus! After seeing @Timmy13091 and @Silverado SS builds I admit I was worried. But didn't think he would fvck me. Like I said, we actually met and chilled a little.

Did he at any point tell you to bite the pillow? :naughty:

Thanks. I was pretty happy with the pillars. I had my midrange and tweet just sitting on my dash for the longest! I was super excited to get these done. AND I was getting a custom dash? Sh.t , thought I hit the lottery. I was super excited! My project last a long time cause no time because I have a family too. Or lack of funds for a actual shop to do it for me. I was quoted 250ish each panel from a shop when I was in S.Texas working. I didn't have funds for that. So a year later, I bought spare pillars and tried it out! I was really motivated cause I thought I was getting a ****** dash back and didn't want my speakers just sitting on top of my dash with double sided tape lol.

Oh and I did all my glass work in the field!!! I do surveying so I had time to fiddle around with stuff. Or sleep. So I did it all with tools I had in my work truck.

Pillars drying on the ROW. I did several layers of build prime and spot glazing to get rid of pinholes since I was painting to my oem color.
