ip-bus to connect pioneer fm cd changer?

i just bought a cdx-fm687 cd changer, and its designed for being used through the radio. it does however, have an ip-bus connection on the back.

if i buy an ip-bus cable and hook it into my cd player, will it work just like one that isnt made for the radio?

idk what an ip-bus connection is, but that would make sense if its hooked up to the headunit
