Inverted subs?

i see alot of pics on realm of excursion and others sites were someone will mount the subs facing inside the box,

does this give a different type of sound or is it louder or does it make no difference

Had one of my sets inverted and really never changed them out to test it. But from what most people say here there isnt any difference.

Its mainly for looks.

The only difference will be the change in volume of the enclosure due to losing the displacement of the sub.

well you can get away with a slightly smaller box....but then you have these huge motors sticking out of the box.

No difference though.

yeah, this is the main issue and it can be a real issue with some subs.
