hey guys and gals, new to the forum here...but not too new to car audio. just bought a used vehicle that had a system in it two weeks ago, and heres the rundown on it:
2003 Toyota Matrix XRS
aero package (front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts)
black exterior
black/gray/chrome interior
carbon fiber invader style hood
chrome windshield sprayer nozzles w/ blue led's
TRD cold air intake
Sportline lowering springs
16x7 silver wheels from an MR2
TRD Exhaust
purple neons under dash and seats
Whistler radar detector
tint all around (unsure what percentage, but its dark enough)
2 12W6v2's in a sealed inclosure
MA Audio 1800 watt amp flush mounted into the floor
Panasonic head unit(older model)
factory speakers
ill put some pics up in the next few days
first things first, i dont think the previous owner could color coordinate...the dash has all red lighting, the headunit and amp have blue LED's, and then purple neons???? i hate the ricer sprayer nozzles, but you cant get OEM replacement ones short of going to the dealer, so i just ripped out the wiring for the LED's, and left the chrome ones on there since they match the exterior of the car. and, im not too sure if i want to put red neons in place of the ones that are in there...or just discard the neons all together.
planned car audio upgrades:
the headunit is definately going, ive already been pricing the eclipse CD8455's on ebay as a replacement, this will be my first eclipse headunit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i hope i love it...and the chrome and black face plate will blend in well with the rest of the interior.
JL audio XR650 components are going into the front stage, with a 350/2 amp...and the MA Audio amp is going out the window to make room for a 1000/1 to power the W6's.
before all that is done im going to go ahead and build a ported enclosure for the subs...since that will be the cheapest upgrade, and hopefully the best bang for the buck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
ive already ordered some 17" Motegi RT5's with Kumho rubbers, which should be here on tuesday. hopefully the 8455 will be in the dash within the next month
sorry for the long post, just wanted to get some of my info out there!
