so I've had my SAE 1000D for awhile, it's an awesome amp, but during a trip down to austin halfway thru the ride the bass just cut out, so i pulled over to check what was wrong, and after 30 seconds i noticed all of the amps internal fuses were blown, so I assumed that maybe i had the gain just a little too high, i had it set for a small amount of clipping, so when i got to austin i bought some new fuses, pulled the old ones out, turned the gain down, and then reconnected the power and ground wires, as soon as i did the terminal for the positive wire that i was attaching just started sparking like mad until all 3 of the fuses blew. At that point i was a little mad.
Now i have almost no clue how the internal parts of an amplifier work I just know what the transistors and mosfets and power supply are supposed to look like on the board... everything looked normal, nothing was burnt or singed... if my digital camera hadn't been stolen a week and a half ago i would post pictures, but everything looks okay... does anyone know what could possibly be wrong...
I would contact jacob, but he's already helped me out once and he didnt even have to because the warranty doesnt transfer over when you buy one of his amps used, but he's just awesome and loves being a good person so he helped me anyways. I will definitely be buying a 1500D when i have them oney, but for now, can any1 tell me what the problem could be?
Cliffs: Fuses on SAE 1000D blow whenever power is connected, I want to know what the problem is, opened amp, looked at board, nothing is burnt or singed.
