Interior texture and color matching...

Where can I find the spray cans that people use to match the texture and color of thier interiors? I have a '96 Camaro, and the texture is very thick, and I'm having a hard time finding a product that I could use on some plastic pieces, and it looks like my a-pillars don't match my gauge cluster cover, so I'm thinking its more then one I'm going to need......

SEM is what I use for paint, very good stuff. I get a can for $7.50 locally. Tons of colors. I find that there satin black finish matches a lot of matte black OEM finishes.

Also, for something that has a "grain", think look into vinyl, good vinyl will stretch well also with a little heat. Here is a tweeter pod I put in my A-Pillars and then stretched vinyl over it: http://slickssite.com/Car%20Audio/DriverTweet2.JPG

That vinyl was OEM style (thats what the place called it) and ran about $10 a yard, more than enough to do two pillars.

I think vinyl is the way I may have to go. I thought there was a spray can that sprayed paint as well as texture???

I don't remember the texture of the plastics inside the Camaro, but in my Civic, the dash and center console pieces are just matte black with really no texture, but the pillars had a vinyl look to them, thats why I chose vinyl on them.

Match them accordingly, especially if they are butted up against the dash, you don't want contrasting textures.

I personally like vinyl especially when glassing, since you can rough it in and cover most blemishes with the vinyl, you have to do a little more work when painting.

SEM makes a texture coat. It sprays just like paint and the tetures grain will vary by how far you hold the can away from the panel.

So you can match your interior very close.

After you spray it, let it dry, use a scotch pad to knock down the high points and then color match it.
