installing tweeters, do i have to drill??

hey, im trying to install components in my 2k altima. it dosent have spots for components already, so do i have to drill spots to put the tweeters or what? wheres the best place to put them?

Are you putting the midbass in the doors? Kick panels? You have some choices ... right above the midbass, up in the top of the door, A pillar ...

Some people say you need to have the tweeter within 6" or 12" away from the midbass ... take that like a grain of salt ... there are sound quality champions with tweeters mounted on the dash, or in other words, a lot farther away than 6 or 12". What I'm saying is, play around with different locations and see what sounds best to you. Oh and as for drilling ... you'll usually need to drill a hole to run the wire ... some tweet's have an adhesive backing that will stick to the panel or what-have-you. With other tweet's you'll need to use a hole cutter and follow the directions for mounting in the manual.

i have mine in the dash, just get some velcrow and put it on your dash and on the bottom of the tweeter, should stick pretty well..

in my eclipse i had one set of mid bass in the door, and the tweets for those were in the dash where the factory 3" went.... caused me no problem and they sound good there.

Try the tweets in different places and see where you like them. Thats the best way to hear where they sound good.
