hey i have a 1998 gmc sonoma with a factory delco cd player. i want to hook up some subs right now, and then later after i've saved up get a nice cd player for it. does the factory cd have a preamp out or what ever i need to hook up my sub amp to it?

so i would hook that up to the speaker wires right? but then would one of the speakers still have sound?

Typically you would run the conveter from both speaker wires for a stereo signal sent to your amp- I.E. that way it recieves left and right channel information. in most applications the rear speakers are used and are just bypassed all together, however, there are also a good number of systems that tap into the speaker wires to get the signal and still leave the speakers themselves going.

I would reccomend the first way, just a personal prefrence, however, either will work allright.

Take it easy,

Some decent amps still have the speaker level inputs and can do without a converter. If you go this route I would highly recommend getting an amp with a full range output as well so you can put power back to your rears as well as your subs..Just a thought.

i'm planning on getting a 10w3, then another later

the amp i want is the jl 250/1

cd player- alpine cda7876

i already have 2 q logic boxes

does the JL amp have this capability?

i think i'll just get the alpine now, and have it all installed...screw it.

Behind your factory radio, four wires that you are looking for are:

Left Rear Pos. Brown

Left Rear Neg. Yellow

Right Rear Pos. Dark Blue

Right Rear Neg. Light Blue

These are the wires you need to hook up to the sloc

Make sure that you have the polarity right or your amp won't work right when you bridge it.
