Installing First Amp (*Noob Questions*)

Hey all, its time to finally install my first amp (Directed Audio 1500D) for my Type R sub. I bought an amplifier kit from Knuconceptz and am almost positive I have everything I need. So I run the pair of RCA's from the amplifier (putting the Red Plug in the Red Slot and the Blue Slot into the White Slot on the Amp) to the back of my head unit. Now, where do I run the battery and ground wires from the amp? I assume I connect the battery wire somehow to my battery but am unsure of how to do this. I have two sets of + and - screws on the back of the amp so I am I only using one set correct to run my Dual 2 Ohm Type R at one ohm? How do I connect the wires to the amp in the slots where screws are?

Thanks for all the help. I really do appreciate it.

If the metal is painted be sure to take that off so its bare. Also there should be a remote turn on lead you run that from your headunit to your amp. This wire should be a smaller wire then the power and ground wire.

Wow thanks guys. I do not have a big red wire but the kit came with Power and Ground cables so I assume I run the power cable to the battery and battery slot of the amplifier. The wiring also has a built in turn on lead which is nice. So with the ground wire it goes from the back of the amp to anywhere metal on the ground of my car? Do I just tape it down with electrical tape? How does that do anything relevant to helping out the amp? Also, how does simply sticking the wires into the slots and then pressing the screws down onto them do anything dealing with connections if there isnt another side for the wires to touch? Do I strip the wire a little too before I stick it in? Thanks a ton and thanks for the diagram stones.

=Secure it with a bolt or screw to clean bare metal anywhere on the chassis of the car.

How does that do anything relevant to helping out the amp?

= All electronic devices need grounded, the electrons need to travel back to the negative on the battery in order to have a complete curcuit, your battery is connected to the vehicle chassis so connecting to the chassis will allow a path for the electrons to get back to the battery..

=The terminal block IS what the wires touch, that metal terminal is directly connected to the internal components of the amp.

Do I strip the wire a little too before I stick it in?

=Yes.

And I just sent you a PM stones. Just delete it. Also, do most cars (I have a Mazda3 s if it matters) have a hole for the power wire to go through? I havent looked at my car yet. Also, I only run one set of + and - wires from the amp to the sub correct if I am trying to wire one 12" Type R Dual 2 ohm to one ohms? Thanks.

Up.

Also, If I am going to be adding a second amplifier and I own a distribution block, does it matter which amplifier has its power wire connected to the battery? I would assume it wouldn't.
