Installing amp...

Hey guys,

i know you get this alot. But me and my friend are installing a stereo in his 96 integra. Well we got the headunit in which is a pioneer DEH-6400. The amp is a Alpine mono amp im noty sure what model. Well we hooked up the headunit and we are TRYING to hook up the headunit (we have all monster brand cables btw) but we just hooked everything up quick to see if it worked. We hooked up the cables to the headunit(there is 2 different hookups though, 1 that is on the headunit and another that has wires hanging off. we are nto sure which one goes to which) but we hooked that up. then we hooked up the amp to the battery had it grounded and everything maybe not that good. We didnt ground out the amp because it just was a quick test. And nothing. The amp didnt even go on. What could i be doing wrong? does anyone have a wiring diagram i could use?I need some help ASAP! you im me on Turbosupra87 if you would like but i need help quick!

If you didn't ground the amp - there's yoour problem.

Electricity flows from the negative post on a battery top the posative post. There MUST be a complete circuit from one post through you equipment and back to the other post.

Make sure that your ground wire is at least the same gauge as your power wire

you have to hook up the ground, battery, AND remote for it to work. this goes for the head unit and the amp

hook the remote wire up to something that gets 8 to 9 volts when ur car is on. most people hook it up to the back of the h/u.

Uh.....

Don't you mean 10-15volts. After all thats what most vehicles run on. And thats also what MOST decks put out at the remote wire.

remote wire is usually blue.. you should either have a remote wire already on the back of the HU, if not, then see if you have a wire for a power antenna, and and connect them

anything that turns on with ur ignition can pretty much be used as a remote. but look at the wiring harness that connects to the head unit, and there should be a wire thats a 12 volt turn on wire
