Installing Amp and Sub Tomorrow

I was going to wait until it got a little warmer out but I cant wait to get my sub installed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am going to try and do it tomorrow. I think it will be pretty easy but I have a few questions. Where do I install the fuse and do I need to mount the fuse box to something or what?

Also how do I connect the fuse box to the wiring? I guess I need to cut the wire strip two sides then push it into the fuse box somehow? Thanks!

um, you need to read up on amp installation. You don't want to tap into existing wires to wire up your amp. You need to do a search on amplifier installation and read thoroughly. all your questions will be answered

Ok I think I got that part.

One more question

My sub is 250 watts RMS and 500 watts peak power. My amp is 500W single channel so I guess ill just over power the sub. Is that ok as long as I turn the gain all the way down?

best way is to use a dmm to set them but you shouldnt need to turn them all the way down

Ok got it all installed and it works!

My gains and everything else are all set to 0 and it doesnt look like the sub is working very hard at all. Is it safe to try and turn them up a bit?

X over (whats this mean? I have mine on full) then HPF

all those settings are set to the lowest possible

Ok well I turned everything up a little. The sub face isnt even vibrating that much when its on. Its giving out nice bass and sounds great though.

Is it safe to turn up some of these options half way or even more as long as I keep the gain down or what?
