installing a cd player in a 01 grand prix

I am going to install a CD player in a 01 grand prix SE. Is there anything i have to look out for, one thing my dad said was the anti-theft protection, is there anything else or is it as simple as buying an installation kit and hooking up the wires?

Pretty simple on that car. The anti-theft system isn't a problem until you're putting the factory head unit back in. Even then, it's only an issue if it's been activated; on most cars it hasn't been.

The 04's have a lot of electronical gremlins.. but like I said, only in 2004 and up. the wiring is straight forward and there is nothing special (bypass harnesses etc) that you need to buy.
