Well recently with the help of others on this site, I have decided to install a set of Alpine 6.5" Type S speakers in the doors of my 88 chevy pickup. Now, if you are familiar with the 88 chevys, you know that the doors dont have any OEM speaker locations, but they do have a vast flat empty space you could fit a 6x9 in if you were willing to spend more money than me. Now for anyone who was fallowing my other thred "looking to upgrade my 4x6's" you know I was planning to just hook up the 6.5's to my head unit. Well I have a better solution. My friend recently got a small 2 channle amp and he gave it to me. I tested it and it works fine. I have started drwing up my plan on my door. For my spacers (which will need to be about as deep as the speakers) I plan on only using MDF and just sanding it down really smooth and paint them, should look fine. Here is some pics of what I have to work with.

trying to figure out where the speaker should go
Seeing how thick the spacers will need to be
Drwing the blue print. Each corner of the square is the screw hole for the speaker.
