installing 2 batterys....

i have a red top for the front and a yellow for the back do i need any thing in between to regulate or do the batterys need to be the same .. it says in the manual for the yellow top when running batterys parrelell they should be same make model and age... or should i just put the yellow up front and elimanate the red top.. i have a serious dimming issue and its a new alternator 130 amp rated..

how much power are you running? Did the Big 3? Size of your power and ground wire?

They're not necessary unless you dont want to run your front battery while your car is off. Just run + to + and Negatives to appropriate ground locations and a fuse by each battery.

you should be fine just wiring them strait to each other. the reason for them saying they should be the same age make and model is because it will one of the batteries sit below its max charge when the car is off. this will reduce life of the batteries but i have seen many people do it and have never seen any problem.

you want to have 2 fuses per your wire running from + to + one close to both batteries

I just wire the rear batts - directly to the frame.

if you can do it is it always best to go directly batt to batt for + and -. Just like the gods of electrical current intended.
