Hi, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

I just came back from a Car Audio store who installs Audison,Facal, etc on Ferrari's and Porsche's. This is the quote they gave me for installation

install Diamond Spker (front door) > 135 USD

custom make 2 spker ring > 90 USD

Dynamat 2 front doors > 225 USD

install Amp > 180

install JL stealthbox > 140

Total Intallation cost = $$ 770 USD

what do you guys think? are these reasonable?

Also, i want to order the JL stealthbox $ 640.

they told me the JL stealthbox could be on back-order. they offered to custom built something like the stealthbox for a little bit cheaper. What do you think i should do?

please help . TIA

must be nice... if you got the cash, which it appears you do, then go for it, I'd be doing that myself for a much lower cost, but if that's how you want to spend your $$$, then by all means... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bowdown.gif.b85b23b82970bd22fb6b549c3392f016.gif

hmm... no ar...

i didn't know installation can be this expensive.

The installation cost is more than 2/3 of the cost of parts (1 set of diamond audio, 1 amp, 1 JL stealth). is installation usually this expensive? or this normal rate ?

Seems a touch on the expensive side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What place is this in Canada?

Thanks you guys. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif This is just what I want to know.

I suspected they are trying to **** me on installation since I am bringing the hardware..

The place is in Burnaby of BC. I guess I am going to find another shop.

Sometimes installation dwarfs the cost of the actual equipment. Custom fiberglassing gets very expensive. But it sounds like yours would be a fairly basic install (other than how they mount the amp(s), maybe that would be glassed. Seems high to me, but it would really depend on the finished product.

if you have the speakers in your hands- go to home depot, buy a $10 piece of 1/2- 3/4 in mdf and cut out the speaker rings yourself- takes 15 min- save $80

If you dont mind paying, its worth to have someone slave for you......

BTW what car is thins goin into?

i don't know how they going to do the install. basically i ran out of the shop when i hear the quote... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

are you in the area? do you have a shop you can recommand?
I'm in the West Kootenay region. Travel lots, business trips to Vancouver. Have family in Maple Ridge.

Out of most of the shops down there ... I'd probably pay a visit to Rob @ Forbidden ... even if it meant me driving and/or taking a ferry.
