install cd receiver in 99 cougar

Having trouble installing a cd receiver in my brothers 99 cougar.

trouble getting factory radio out. Is there a special way to pull out

the factory radio. I can't believe I'm having so much trouble. I've install

radio in all of my cars I've had and never had this much trouble. first time putting radio in a ford car.

help me please

I did this install on a buddy's Cougar. You need a special tool that looke something like a piece of wire bent into a "U" shape. (You get 2.) They go into the little holes on the sides of the radio to release an internel clip. You can get them @ an automotive store for about $8. Tell them what your doing and they'll hook you up.

My brother is very happy with his radio. He said it sounds great.
