dude...I cant believe you dont get it....thats because people keep saying the boxes are crap...when in fact, nobody has proved yet they they arent the best performer.....rip on mark and his business all you want...but people that have his boxes, know they perform incredibly....Id buy another one from him IF....he agreed that I could pay him when I came to pick it up....other people dont have that advantage

I know I can make a better performing enclosure for SQ...after all, what does Mark think - the key to having good SQ is to make sure the impedance stays constant?

I have no offense with the former, and I laugh at the latter...because it implies that a) Everyone's looking for the same thing out of their subwoofer and b) Mark's tested every single theoretical design before coming up with this one.

This is why those defending TCAB catch so much grief....because they use terms like "the best". The best at what?
They can't possibly be the best at everything, or else TCAB would own the world in audio enclosures and be making millions from OEM design work.
The best in sound quality? Given they are designed with high output as a goal, the sound quality is inherently going to suffer. So if someone wants a sound quality enclosure, TCABs would no longer be "the best".
The best at SPL? Really? So a TCAB enclosure is presently holding the world record in every SPL competition format, and in every class in all of those formats? Because that's the only possible way they could ever be titled as "the best".

well would agree with this...yes, everyone who gets one of his boxes is probably looking for the same thing...just a loud street beater, that also sounds decent. It doesnt sound any worse than any box ive had built by a local shop. Now on that same topic...ive never had an SQ setup....so I really dont have anything to compare it with. Also its hard, and id say a lot more expensive to have an SQL setup with the amount of bass that satisfy's me....lately Ive been hearing great things about the SS Mag....that sounds like something I would be all over once I get enough money.
no no, I didnt mean the best if I said that...but as far as a street beater, and putting up numbers....not saying that its just an SPL setup..but for a street beater... nobody on here has proved to be better for AS class............with the type R's...and maybe even L7's... If im wrong, prove me wrong, and I appologize, and will end this right here.
just when people say "ohhh TCAB's are crap" ....again, from what you guys said....crap in what sence...the guy saying they are crap might be an SQ guy.....so Its a never ending story...

People bought his boxes for high output (SPL), not many people go to mark for SQ purposes. Afterall, he's good at getting loud, but not always sounding good.
I don't think i'm opening myself up to flaming at all. TCAB enclosures excel in the areas they are supposed to. I don't agree with mark's business practices either, but that is not the basis for this thread at all.
Actually, none of the crap posts in this thread pertain in any way to the thread starters question. I've stated multiple times that there is nothing fancy inside mark's boxes, which effectively answers the thread starters question.

yea 15nissen is in as1 he has a 15in type r in a civic he did a 46 on test tones i think not sure
