Input on 12' subs and amp

I'm trying to decide between the IA 187 or the SSA Dcon. I'm looking for something that hits pretty hard and has good sound quality and from my understanding the 187 will hit hard but the Dcon will have better sound quality. Will also be in a sealed enclosure if it makes a difference. Also looking for what amp to pair with them as i do have a 600w American Legacy 2 channel amp which is cheap and i have had for about 6 years would like to definitely get something better when i have the money, would like to spend less than $200 on the amp or around it.

The enclosure and install will make a massive difference in the response you get from the drivers. Ensure you have them in a good enclosure and you should be happy with which ever one you choose to use.

As for amp, that will come down to budget and such. I would upgrade for sure though.

I just replied to your PM with some helpful info on saving a few bucks on a box. I would not go with the choice you suggested but I did toss out another person to contact to get good build quality on a budget. Just remember that the enclosure is the back bone of the sub stage.

I would go with a DCON over a 187 any day. As for an amp remember to match the total impedance of the subs to it. I would look for a 1000 watt rms mono amp. I'd set the gains a little low at first to see how they like it.
