Info on the IA 40.1

I'm looking to upgrade to this amp around next Feburary. I know it does 3600 at 1 ohm but is it underrated any, maybe close to 4K, and is it good on electric? I know there is suppose to be a new 40.1 soon, is there a date yet on it? Also if not can any one recommend another amp around 4K at 1 ohm.

best upgrade to do on a 40.1 is 18.2v

will do around 4k @ 1ohm and some more at .5ohm on 14v

Ive heard anything from up to 7900 on 18v. They make a lot of power. They arent the most efficient but i love IA amps.

Not looking to do nothing that big but I do want to get my AQs to there 'full' potential. Plus from what Im reading their underrated quite nicely. I plan on getting me a trail blazer come feburary and put in a new beefy alternator and such so I should hover around 13.4v or so, which I do with my current set up.

Draw – 450 amps at 12 volts and 560 amps at 17 volts full tilt.
Power - 3600x1 at 12.8, 4600-4800x1 at 14.4, 7500-8000x1 at 17 volts all at 1 ohm.

i run ia in my comp. car at 12 volts. running 2 12" wardens & 2 40.1s ran at .3 ohms and do 155.8 on the tl meter. i also have one in my caddy running at .7 ohms daily. it has never shut down. awesome product.

X2. The reason i love IA audio amps. I was running my 20.1 at .25 on music for 10 sec's, car off, only a deka in the back, stock batt in the front. Never went into protect, barely even got warm. Great amps!
