infinity vs eclipse

i currently have the orion 4004 but it gets too hot after a while, im using it to power (ts-c160r in front and mb quarts discus series in rear). im leaning towards the infinity ref 7541, and the eclipse ea4000 because those 2 are on my budget $200.

wil it be worth it? if so,

what will be my best bet ?

please help, any other options accepted

Id go with the eclipse. They seem to sound very good and be a very clean amp. I also prefer the looks compared to the infinity.

Infinity seems to have too much highs and doesn't really seem to have a nice warm sound.

I can't speak about a Eclipse amp but I do have that Infinity 7541a 4 channel amp. I will tell you that I have been very happy with it. Very clean and potent. I think you would be happy with that amp, unless there is a big price difference between the two.

i was checking this kicker 06zx650.4, it seems very powerful i might put some extra bucks if is woth it, i just dont want to have the same problem as i have right now with the orion

I ran Eclipse amps for several years and loved them. I removed my Eclipse 3640 which was still running strong after oh what 6 almost 7 years. Not too shabby if you ask me. Anyways, I only speak for their older stuff as I have no experience with their newer amps.

i would go eclipse cuz of their ICE Power technology in their amplifier(except the EA series)...

so if i get this eclipse will it have enough power for those two set of comps, cause like i said i dont want to have the same problem i have with the orion, this orion after playing for half an hour goes into thermal you could almost fried an egg on it.

i can spend some extra bucks if its woth it and im starting to like the kicker

Eclipse are full range class-D amps (the ICEpower ones anyway). They don't seem to be CEA rated either, which isn't a big deal except I'd like to see the THD and S/N numbers under the CEA system as the >90dB S/N seems to generic for my liking. Also look how they use a round-about way of the THD and power ratings... Power ratings are shown for 1% THD but then the THD ratings show only the 4-ohm load and say .05% THD "at rated power". But wait a minute we just saw the "rated power" and it said at 1% THD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif LOL.
