Infinity Reference subs...

I have Infinity mids and highs. I have a set of subs that I am not satisfied with...Kenwood (blah). I thought about just going ahead and doing Infinity subs as well. How do they sound? How do they match up with the Alpine type S? If you can help, I'd like to know about bass accuracy and sound quality. Also, it'd be great to know how much "bangin' bass" I'd get out of both. Please help...

well the references are not at all meant to be spl subs so that banging bass, in your case will be lost. They are good subs in my opinion. My friend had 2 12s and they never missed a beat, low end, high end, they covered everything. but if i were you, and i was going to go with infinity subs, id go with the perfects. I think Audiolife has a pair of them. He could tell you more about them but they are definately some very nice sq woofers. Well hope that helped.

sorry i guess i didnt answer the your whole question. the Alpine type S would have more of that "bangin bass" that you're looking for. but if you were going for spl then why not go for the extreme? like audiobahn or something along those lines. or you could always get a couple of shivas and get spl and sq.

Thanx for the help man...and you like the type S, huh? I was leanin' that way anyhow. I listen to rap music so the "bangin' bass is really gonna be important, and I DO plan to piss on those Kenwoods...maybe even #2!
