infinity reference 4x6 question

hey i just installed some infinity reference 4x6's in my brothers car and i was not that impressed with the sound quality that infinity has to offer...i was running it directly off of the HU, Pioneer dh1400, and i think this may be the problem...do i need an amp to get a cleaner sound friom the speakers...the sound was dirty at low and high volumes...or should it sound good and i just did something wrong?..all i knwo is that it should sound better....thanks in advance

I have Infinity's 3.5" speakers running directly off my H/U and they soung pretty dam good

The sound quality when I had my 4x6 was real good better than my 6x9 Now there hooked to an amp and sound even better I don't know but I've never had a problem with SQ from Infinty the main reason I buy Infinity is because of the great sound quality I get from them.

agreed, at least that is what i heard...but i am not sure what he has is considered good SQ...highs are scratchy and unclean...i think i did something wrong
