they are decent entry level subs, work in both sealed and vented enclosures. From what i have heard from them they are decent middle of the road subs, good out put and decent SQ. if i was looking for a daily driver system they would be on my list of subs to consider. They won't compete with higher level subs but they put subs like the explodes, type-s, and so on to shame.

really TYPE S? wow. lol the infinitys are nice to an extant, for rock music not really a sub u can pound the living crap out of. and Type-s is really a good sub if put in the right box and powered properly. Sony subs are just entery they are really not that bad for someone who has very little knowledge on subs.

my little brother is always looking at that sub...makes me so proud he is getting into car audio. He won't cut and weld for it though.

Well i am just going on what i have heard, like most poeple know the box makes all the difference. But from what i have heard and surprisingly it has been mostly type-s and infinity ref., because around here they are the most widely availible and affordable subs, i have liked the infinity better, hands down. i have heard both in medium-large size sealed boxes and both in vented boxes/niether tuned to a know hertz. So no, i can't say for shure that the infinty is better, no one can, i am just saying in what i have heard out of the 2 i have always like the sq and spl of the infinty ref better. Maybe you have heard diff in which case i would like you to share things like box size and tuning case it would halp me and some of me suggest new ideas for my friends who on the type-s or infinfty and are looking for a better all around sound,
