Infinity or Kicker Subs/Amp? Which brand is better?

I am looking to add bass to my car. I have 2 friends willing to sell me their old systems. First guy has two Infinity Kappa's 12 inch sub woofers in sealed box with 1200 watt Infinity 2 channel amp. The second guy has two 12 inch Kicker Comp vr's in a slot ported box with a kicker 1000.1 mono amp?

The Infinity system will cost me $400 from one of my friends and the Kicker system will cost me $350 from another friend.

Which way do I go?

Note: I've used the Kicker 1000.1 amp before and loved it! Not sure about Infinity amps but they make good midrange speakers from what I know. Any experience with either? Is the Infinity worth the extra $50 or just go with Kicker? The Infinity is 200 watts higher but Kickers are also underrated.

Thanks!

are you wanting to be loud or sound good?
Kinda preferred both //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Though I'm guessing that's not the case here.

the only bad thing is that those are the entry level subs. you might want to get atleast CVR's or better
Hmm, so the amp is great, but the subs or eh? How bad are they? Like would I not be happy with these Kickers?

Money is the issue here so for $400 or less, I get almost everything.

With a little research and some learning, you could build a much better system yourself, for the same price. But that's problem with most kids, they want everything to be done for them, that's why they go into Best Buy and plop down a couple hundred bucks for very basic equipment and a shoddy install.

I am aware that Best Buy doesn't sell the best equipment. Plus they are very over priced in my opinion. Just buying a nice/new system right now will cost far more than $400 I've been told. That Kicker 1000.1 amp alone is worth $300ish. So for an extra $50 I would get 2 average subs in a slit ported box. I thought that was a good deal.

Can I really get better than that? I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, I honestly didn't think I could do much better than $350 for a 1100ish watt Kicker amp, 2 subs, and a box.

Didn't realize they were CVR's, which makes it a decent deal. But theres no way that amp is worth 300 bucks, especially since it's used. Selling it on here, you'd be lucky to get $150.

This is the box the Kickers would be in:

This is the actual Infinity bundle:

Well other people have stated it, the kicker's aren't a sq sub, they're more for bangin and personally I see Kicker as overrated. So its up to you. The infinities will give you better sq. From what I see of it, either of those boxes could be thrown out and you could build a better one (If your budget permits you too) and you would probably get either sub hitting harder and sounding better.

And also, go with what you like to hear. With such a close price and the subs being of similar quality, you may as well take the one you like the most.

i'd go with the kickers. i've had cvr's before and they were great subs. i had them in a ported box and they were loud. i've got 2 cvx's now and they're in the same ported box with the same amp. i'm feeding them less power than they want, they get a little louder than the cvr's did and the sq is really decent with the low power i'm giving them. although kicker may be a little overrated as far as subs go, i'm definitely a fan. like i said, i'd go with the kickers.

between the two..
Kicker

Just my two cents
