Infinity Kappa or Perfect

Is it worth spending the extra $50 for the perfect series from infinity, or should i just go ahead and get the regular kappa series.

YES!. The 5.1 Perfects retail for $500, and the Kappas retail for $330. Thats a MUCH larger difference in what you are paying. It is a better set, by a reasonable amount.

the tweeter on the perfects is very harsh, which is why i replaced them with bostons

ummmm... you can get perfects on ebay for ~$225. I listen to a lot of rock/punk style music (strata, dashboard, linkin park, breaking benjamin). I also like to pop in a rap CD every once in a while for some bass action...

I dont like very harsh tweets. i guess that means like snare hits and rap "claps" are ear shattering?!?! No dont like that @ all... I like to hear all of the cymbals in rock tho!

I have Kappa right now in my car. Since you like rock/punk, more instrumental music, then the kappa are a good match for you. If you listen to something that has a little more bass to it, I would suggest another speaker.

Yes, they do get rather loud.

I've never owned kappas only references. I have friends that've used kappas and perfects. The perfects are a good set but just not worth the money imo. When I was testing my new ef's last night they really did sh!t all over any infinity set. don says the cl-62's have more midbass but i think the ef's pound pretty hard. and dont even think about infinity tweets, the rap claps are startling and deafening indeed unless you do that -3db thing on the xover i guess (never really tried it)
