infinity kappa 6.5" 3way problem

ive got infinity kappa 6.5" 3ways and for some strange reason it jsut stopped working. only one speaker works fine. the other will put out the high sounds but no low sounds at all. if i push the cone down a hair it starts working for a few seconds and then stops. it worked fine this morning and didnt make any strange noises it just quit this afternoon when i got in the car after school. what would cause this and how do i fix it?

SOunds like a problem with the speaker... does it have a x-over? Thats the only thing i could think of

im a very big inifnity fan so ive worked with there customer service alot. Return them on warranty. It'll be trouble free

yea its got a cross over. i figured maybe wiring but im not sure. i think im jsut gonna email infinity and see what they say. the durn thing isnt but 4 months old

It could be a problem with the cross over only letting high's through. Is it built in?? if not then double check your wireing make sure it's all tight. And of course e-mail them see what they say!

Sounds like an intermittant connection. Either one of your speaker wires is loose or the speaker itself has a problem.

if it was the speaker wire that was bad would the highs get through? cause if not then its gotta be the crossover cause the connections from the cross over to the speaker were tight. if i send them bakc on warranty should i send both or just the one? thanks for the help

im almost positive you have to send both back because im sure they'll replace them instead of fixing them

before u send it back, check the crossover for loose wires

one started crackling tonight like it was blown and then it stopped after i shut it off for an hr or so but i figure ill just go ahead and send them back anyway. do they have to be registered to send them back? ill have to dig up some info to do that but it wouldnt be a problem
