Libel is also spoken word in such a form as talk radio...where it can be replayed/republished in different fixed mediums because it was recorded. But in general, you are correct.slander is something that is said, libel is something that is written.

Libel...printed word. The problem today is with youtube, and everyone with a camera phone can technically document and replay spoken word and have it be seen across the world. I only commented on your post because I knew nothing more than what you posted until I took defamation, publicity, and privacy this past spring. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifDidn't know that...learn something new.
What about interviews for magazines though...where spoken word is intentionally replayed over a variety of fixed mediums?
truth is the best defense for a claim of libel/slander...but proving whether something is true or false can be tricky depending on what is actually said/spoken.But for something to be libel, it has to be untrue, correct?
trust me it can be frustrating...but you have to do it. It's hard to give a simple yes/no answer...many exceptions to the law.Wow. You sound like the guys on our legal staff.
You like, answered my question without saying anything. LAWL
It's a nice approach when you charge by the hour.Do0d, it is on, but it is doing that weird on off on off instable thingy again.
I think you guys are just trained to talk like that so no one can take what you say and use it against you.
