Increasing SPL

I have two 12" Pioneer Premier TS-W2000SPL's. First off, let me say this is my second system and its a considerable increase over my first. Really... it's more than loud enough for me, but my friends are hungry for more and more bass, even when the subs are blasting so hard it hurts. I'd recommend these subs to anyone, good work Pioneer!

I currently have a 1000 wrms amp and a 1.00 cubic foot per sub sealed box... which is really much much to small for them. Now these subs are SPL subs, so theyre designed to work in large ported enclosures, so I was thinking about building my own box, rather than getting more subs or new amps.

1. How much of a difference do you think upgrading to a larger, ported box would really make? I would like to tune it to about 30-35 hz. any decibel numbers?

2. Also, I've got a 1.2 farad capacitor lying around waiting to be installed, so I might as well. Do you really need to pre-charge them, or is it safe just to plug n' play?
