Incorrectly wired dvc sub?

If you wire a dual 2 ohm voice coil with only one voicecoil being used will it be obvious soundwise (will it sound terrible making it obvious)? It's wired to a bridged amp 400X1 at 4 ohms. Not 2 ohm stable.

Like the pic below. let's say you wire the positive and negative together on the same side of the sub and hook your amp up to the other voicecoil positive and negative on the other side (if that makes any sense), will it cause only one voicecoil to run with this kind of wiring?

That should help.

Thanks. Although I've been saying I, it was someone I know that may have done this but the sub is installed so I'm not sure. Basically I think he may have ran The opposite of what you drew. Not using a positive from oneside and a negative from the other.

But I'm not sure because it's getting really loud and sounding clean. His amp puts out 400X1 at 4 ohms so with it wired wrong I assume only 1 voicecoil would be functioning at 2 ohms which would put out 800X1 approximately until the amp goes into protect mode but I don't think that has happened yet and it seems to sound good not crappy.
