My friend has a JL Audio 1000 and two Memphis M3 15"s in his Jeep. I swear I can barely sit in the thing. I had two Cerwin Vega EXL-1200D and 4 MA 12"s and he blows me away. Actually, I've had multiple 4 12"s setups and he beat them all. How is this possible? I think I need deadening because only his plate rattles, and my whole truck shakes and you can feel air blowing out the doors with them closed. Also, what setup could I make that could complete with his? A shop guessamatied me at 145-46, so he be louder off half the power and 2 15"s. BTW, I had an 98 Explorer.

Box, deadening and a strong electrical system to power it. It does you no good to have a giant amp if your car can't power it.

There's one dude on here with a giant MA 4000 watt amp he's trying to run off his stock 100 amp electrical system. Waste of money.

It's quite possible that you were louder than him and without using a measuring setup you're really just guessing. Your ear is a really crappy indicator of what's loud.

did u say trunk or truck? i cant think of one jeep that has a trunk like a sedan car so basically ur comparing sitting in the trunk (jeep) and standing outside the trunk (your car) of course the jeep wins. try to port ur sub into the cabin from the rear deck and it's game over.

Another consideration -- Memphis vs MA -- not many people would take MA unless it's thier best vs Memphis' worst, even given the advantage in displacement.

then either your box subs, you n eed better subs or your notting getting the power you think you are. Those CV amps should be doing rated power from what I have seen. Are you getting proper voltage at the amps?

Get two nice 15s off of 3000-4000wrms in a quality box and youll kill his shit. He's only got 1000wrms so he must be underpowering those. So ur shit at it full potiental will def be louder
