in dash dvd install problems

after installing my panasonic in dash dvd head unit the dvd player still does not work. i grounded the wires and rechecked but it still does not play video. There is video when i try to adjust the video settings but not on the main screen. I cleared the memory on the head unit then started it back up and the video popped up for a split second then went right back to saying enjoy the music and not playing any video. Any ideas?

Although you grounded the ground and parking brake wire (pink), some companies require a change in current to allow the screen to function. Meaning that typicially you have to pop the Ebrake twice to make it work. i know Pioneers are that way as well as Phase Linears. So try putting in a cheap toggle switch inline for the brake wire and flip it twice. That fixes it, then clean it up and mount the switch womewhere. enjoy

I also already have the ground and parking brake spliced so how would i run the switch to the parking brake?

you can leave them grounded together, you just need to put a toggle switch inline of the pink wire. so to keep the switch from bein behind the H/U.... you put a few feet of wire on each connect of the switch. then cut the pink wire and put the section IN LINE. i will now make a basic diagram using dashes....

ground where pink is attachted Pink to Headunit.

Solder the wire together on the switch and where you slpice the ends and use the extra feet of wire to allow you to put the switch in the dash, side of center console, WHEREEVER.
